Oral History and Archival Processing Intern

Melissa Berry is an MLIS graduate student at the University of Arizona's College of Information Science. Her scholarship has been focused on counter-hegemonic action, cultural resilience, and how to build communal power. Melissa has been continuing the work of former intern Jesus Villalobos, compiling stories from Tucsonense elders to help keep their memories and knowledge alive and processing archival materials. Her work with the Mexican American History and Heritage Museum is the culmination of her experience with community support organizing and her passion for helping people's stories get told.
